Development of ICT Databank in the Ministry’s Headquarters

Development and Deployment.

The Federal Ministry of Communications already has most of the ICT related statistics and wanted to map out existing data to the National ICT databank using modern technologies while mitigating against threats and vulnerabilities.

The databank will serve as a Relational Database Management System which will enable administrative users of the system create and update records as well as run queries to produce reports in different graphical charts. This National ICT databank will serve as a one stop repository on all statistics related to Information Technology in Nigeria. This information will be available over the internet to both citizens and external stakeholders.

Detailed description of services

  1. Support the planning, research and statistics department in developing data bank underlying forms, sheets and tables in collaboration with the focal points of the Ministry’s Agencies and other ICT statistics producers.
  2. Discuss with the planning research and statistics department, the conceptual designs behind the databank, queries and reports expected prior to configuration of the databank.
  3. Develop a web based relational databank with mapping.
  4. Share Beta Model with Planning, Research and statistics department and collaborators for review.
  5. Introduce sample ICT data provided by the collaborators and pilot Beta model.
  6. Finalize the web based relational databank with mapping.
  7. Setup web based relational databank with mapping on the Federal Ministry of Communications website.
  8. Train Federal Ministry of Communications Planning, Research and statistics Department in the management of the Databank (ability to update, edit and delete information, to add fields and produce new report as needed).
